Well that didn’t take long

This is really short, and tied to the previous post, especially the video at the end about when the test is not the test (If you didn’t watch it, it was “The Test is NOT the Test” from Dry Creek Wrangler School. It is worth watching for the build up, but he talks about going through state trooper school for the second time, at 48, after a career in law enforcement, and after other careers. He observed the methods that they used to weed out candidates that were too inflexible, and too green. He told the young guys that were in the 4-man with him that they were testing to see how they handled failure. The instructors made sure that the candidates would fail at something. And the other guys would usually have to do push-ups along with the guy who “failed”.

Tonight, after I get back, I realize that I may have forgotten to lock my son’s truck. With no working vehicle, I can’t drive in to check it, and make sure that it is locked. So … I confessed it to the Lord, and asked Him to protect it, and protect the contents that belong to my son.

I need mercy.

And a verse from the Psalm that I read yesterday morning came back to me. Ps 37:11

“But the humble will inherit the land
And will delight themselves in abundant prosperity.”

A good training ground for humility is when you fail.
